The Meditation Room

In addition, there will be a Meditation Room available across the hall (in Board Room 1) starting Friday at noon. It is the perfect place to get away from the crowds and relax. The room is furnished with some meditation aids to create a relaxing atmosphere.  The ancestor altar will be returning, and LED tea light candles will be available to light in honor of your loved one.
In addition, you can participate in the “Shred It” ritual! The theme for this year is Metamorphosis: Rebirth of Community, so in preparation for rebirth we should release the negative aspects that we don’t want to carry forward to our new life.  I was reminded of a ritual that I was part of years ago with Harmony Tribe – we did a spitting well where we were able to purge our negative thoughts by spitting in a well…but, given recent events, that didn’t seem like the best idea.  While batting the idea around, the idea of shredding the things we no longer need was discussed, and on my long three-hour drive back home, the song “Whip It” by Devo kept running through my head.
So, the “Shred It” ritual was born! It will be a self-guided ritual: you simply write what you want to be rid of on a piece of paper (pencils and paper will be provided) and…SHRED IT! The shredded paper will then be burned at the bonfire (times to be posted in the room).
