Paganicon 2011 will be held at the Doubletree Park Place in St. Louis Park. They’ve hosted several events in the last year that members of our community have enjoyed, and they’re excited about having the Pagan community there.
How to make a reservation:
The Doubletree offers easy online room reservations through their website. Please register through the link: you get a better rate than the advertised rate (and we get to use the number of rooms booked to help us with future year contracts.)
Room rates begin at $87 plus tax for either two double beds or a king bed in each room. (This is cheaper than the advertised rate.) Suites are available for $127: they have a front room with a sleeper couch, and then a small hallway to the bedroom space.
If you need to contact the hotel directly, you may want the following information:
Group code: PAG
Hotel Name: Doubletree Hotel Minneapolis-Park Place

Please note that the hotel will be entirely non-smoking as of the time of the event.
We chose the Doubletree Park Place for a wide range of reasons:
- Easy to get to by car (lots of free parking)
- They’re also near a frequent bus line from Minneapolis.
- A great layout for music events
- The staff have been attentive, thoughtful, and helpful.
- They have a great record providing foods that appeal to people with a wide range of dietary needs – whether that’s vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, or something else.
- There are many local food options in a wide range of price points.
- Bring your swimsuit! There’s a small pool and whirlpool tub.
- Hotel rooms include either king beds or double/double rooms if you want to share the room. The hotel also has suites available.
- There’s plenty of public social space for conversations and community interaction.
The hotel has a lot of great points for those with access or mobility concerns.
- Our primary event space will be on the first floor in the Courtyard rooms and the Seasons rooms.
- There is a flight of 8 stairs between these two areas, but you can either go outside briefly (out one door, in the next) or use a platform lift by the stairs.
- Bathrooms with substantial space and handicapped stalls are available on both levels.
- Accessible sleeping rooms are available on request (they ask that you request early, if at all possible.)
- Fridges for medication are available.
- Our hospitality suite will be on the second floor, right above the Courtyard space, easily accessible by elevator.
- The hotel elevators are right around the corner from one section of our programming space, and from the hallway to our hospitality suite.
Food choices:
We’re excited to offer food events as part of the convention registration. We like this, because it offers you the most for your registration fee (and the hotel likes it too.) However, we also know that many people in our community have foods they can’t or don’t eat.
At past events we’ve attended at the Doubletree Park Place, the hotel has put together an event menu of items from their kitchen with complete ingredient lists and carefully labelled: these include vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free options for the restaurant. The hotel also has a great track record of providing food at functions that meet these needs.
We’ve also chosen for the food events to be ‘extra’ meals – a dessert buffet and an afternoon tea – so that even if the food is not to your taste, you won’t be missing out on community time to get lunch or dinner. That said, we’ll be doing everything possible to make sure you can join us in some way. If you have a restricted diet not mentioned above, please let us know as soon as possible, so we can see what we can arrange. We’ll also be publishing the final menu a couple of weeks before the event, so you can make informed choices about how to plan your meals.
Other access information:
Other accessibility information will be coming as we make further arrangements. If you have specific needs you’d like us to keep in mind, please let us know as soon as possible, so we can see what we can do that would help you enjoy the event.
